I could listen to him all day

I've finished editing audio blobs from Pinch Points and so am sick of my own voice. I daydreamed about how nice it would be to have a replacement. First on my list was Richard Burton with his rich, creamy tones, with Edward Norton running a very close second. I'm sure his vocal chords are infused with burnt cedar and fine, mineralised oil. It was with some surprise that I realised the mid-pack of contenders was mostly Carry On actors: Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Frankie Howerd and Charles Hawtrey. Running alongside them was Tom Baker (but don't tell the wife - she's terrified of him). Of course, I could opt for a female voice.
Vanessa Feltz's would do nicely, thank you very much (I'd take her intelligence as well if it was gifted). Jo Brand's would be most welcome, as would Pam Ayres'. If you think my daydream is silly then I would have to graft on my superior Margaret Thatcher. "The voice's not for turning!" Maybe I'll stick with my own for now.
